Slow Windows PC? Try this:

Recently I had the opportunity to connect again with family. Not naming names, but if they are reading this, then they know who they are. Their PC was running slow and by the time I ran these steps their PC was running rather well. Let me know if running these steps helped your PC run any faster!

SFC /SCANNOW

Run CMD as admin, then type the next line and press enter and let it go until it goes to 100%:

sfc /scannow

After sfc /scannow goes to 100%, then run cmd as admin, then type the next line and press enter and let it go until it goes to 100%:

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Run Windows Updates and reboot and rerun Windows Updates until there are no more updates left to install

Run updates based on who manufactured your PC:

Dell?

Install and run Dell SupportAssist for business PCS:

Dynabook?

Run Windows updates and install bios updates manually using Dynabook's driver update website

HP?

Install and run HP SupportAssistant:

Install and run Lenovo Commercial Vantage:

Disable unnecessary startup apps

Disable unnecessary system configuration services  

Uninstall bloatware from the following locations:

-appwiz.cpl aka App uninstall screen

-Win + r: shell:appsfolder

-settings > apps > installed apps

NOTE:

-tweak your registry to update mousehoverdelay value from 400 to 10

-performance options

-update browsers

-update Office 365

-run disk cleanup twice

-check your ram memory for current capacity and also check your ram memory for max capacity snd consider buying and installing more ram

-last resorts: Warranty check? or RESET THIS PC?
